Thanks for this video Coop. This will come in really handy for me, I battle with low humidity really badly where I live and I’m constantly on the spray bottle so this will be a massive help. Once again I love your work mate.

My first shout out! You're a legend Coop thank you! It's great to see how other people approach the conversion and with different types of home humidifiers. It gives everyone a chance to find a video with a style that is available to them to replicate. Like you said it can be very simple or more complicated if you want - Do whats best for your setup. Can't wait for the next upload !

You already said DI is better than tap water, but another reason is because of nano particles! If you use tap water that has mineral content, the super fine droplets will dry and form nano mineral particles. This isn't a problem with DI water because there is no mineral content. A couple of years ago, I had a humidifier going for a while with just tap water, but after about a week, I found I was always congested and felt just generally bad. When I switched to DI water, I felt WAY better. It was still a bit uncomfortably humid, but nothing a little dehumidifier or AC unit can't fix! You can also get a lot more precise with the output by using a digital outlet timer. Mine is precise down to the second, highly customizable, and only about $15 on Amazon.

I made one of these years ago for some frogs. They are good fun but can saturate smaller environments and quickly foul them. Perfect for a larger Viv like your boyds though!

Pick a humidifier that you can easily attach a hose to, direct that hose to your terrarium or vivarium.

How did you set it up with a timer?
@pershop4950
3 жыл бұрын
You can use a mechanical timer if you just need it to come on for short amounts of time each day, but probably in 15-30 minute increments, depending on your timer. Or you can use a wifi-enabled smart plug and control the timing down to even 30 seconds or 60 second intervals, several times a day.

You can use ANY timer. I have timers from a company called wyze and they are hooked up to wifi and you just set on and off times. I bought one of these cool air misters when my daughter was born 3 years ago and never used it. Until now. I JUST got my gargoyle gecko and I can't wait to try this.

Do the plants benefit from it too or do you have to water them with a mister?
@pershop4950
3 жыл бұрын
Plants can benefit from the condensation of the "fog" back on their leaves or on the walls, and the water drips down.
