This is a great scrap star block. I'm going to make a few. Have to say....yes, I have sewn from the center point of a star to make sure the seams match perfectly, and then flip it around to go the other direction. It works! I just have a question. How does the wood clapper work exactly?
@TheSewingChannel
2 жыл бұрын
I pasted this from google for you.....A tailor's clapper is a flat block of hardwood, often rounded on the ends with routed grooves along the sides for finger holds. It works by absorbing the steam applied to a seam, and locking in the heat. As you press down on the seam with the clapper, the pressure sets the seam flat as the fabric cools. ✅

Lovely block, thank you for the inspiration and instruction! To get my seams to match, I skip the pins (they never work for me) and use glue stick instead. Just a tiny dab of glue at every seam I want to match is all it takes. Elmer's school glue stick is relatively inexpensive and works perfectly; no need to buy special glue for fabric. And it'll wash right out. It's been a total game changer for me.
