Review description for materials used in today’s video. Today I will be using Vaqueta Leather from Montana Leather to build a custom leather handbag. I would rate this handbag as a beginner leather project. While I tooled the accent leather on this project you could skip tooling the leather if you were not ready to tackle leather tooling. Yet, I would say that it’s the perfect tooling project to get your start. While you will notice that the leather today is dyed I did not dye the leather. There are several things that I like about this line of leather. First is the range of colors. The leather dye line that I use does not have the vibrant colors that is available in the Vaqueta leather. It is also nice to decide on a project and not need to wait for dye to dry as part of the time needed to complete your project l. Also it’s nice to have the same colors available in two thicknesses. The 3.5 - 5 ounce and 8-9 ounce leather covers needs for a wide range of projects.

In today’s video I used two colors of leather they were Vaqueta in Fuchsia and Vaqueta in Brown. Both were in 3.5 - 5 ounce weights.

I also used Fiebing’s Resolene to coat and protect the custom leather handbag.
