I went an extra step and rounded off all the sharp edges with a 1/4" roundover bit with my router- saves little bodies from nasty bumps if they go boom, lol. It's a bit more work, but it definitely does give the stool a more finished look. I make lots of these to give away to my friends who have little ones at home. For a lot of my younger friends who are new parents.....they find that these stools are something they didn't know they needed for their 2-6 year olds, haha. I also finish them with spar urethane to protect them from spills, getting pee'd on (anyone with little boys will agree with me), driving hotwheels cars on, etc. I also use this same design to make dog dish holders. These stools are a "swiss army knife" in the home! OH.....I also made a version with a bottle opener on one end, and a shelf underneath to hold bottles of beer, haha.

Using the Dewalt Polisher compared to my old broken down polisher/grinder is a dream. kzitem.infoUgkxfzbDkCRyv3CFXnLZI4APZtRRuG2uRmP2 Except for the weight, often a sign of build quality, it's everything I expected from Dewalt and more. Overhead work will give you a good workout. The 600 RPM slow speed is perfect for compounding. The variable speed trigger can be used to control the initial over-rev or for greater finesse. This polisher, a good 3M wool bonnet, and 3M Imperial Compound made quick work of removing 10 years of UV oxidation from the gelcoat fiberglass sides of a 30 foot Fifth Wheel. It shines like new now.

Thanks for the videos... if you ever get a chance could you do a more detailed video on on all the things a compound sliding miter saw can do and how to use it. I liked your vid on setting up a straightedge guide on a circular saw.

Thank you Ana. I am going to try your plan, but I did make a step stool. I have a little dog, she loves to spend time with me on the sofa, she is able to jump down, but cannot get up. Hence the stool. Mine turned out pretty sweet, but I would very much like to try your plan. Thanks again for your kind response.

Great looking stool! One tip, cut out (or turn down) the music when you narrate or speak. Use tripod, your cameraman is a bit shaky. Apart from this I love your videos and projects! Take care, Andrea A.

Yes I love this stool, I watched a few times, but missed a lot of your verbal instructions, due to machines. Sides I got the length, and side degrees, , you cut the sides @ 71/2 inches long, at what angle, same with the 1x3 sides, again what angle. Thank you ahead of time for your information.

Nice stool, but with the music, the sound of the power tools and your voice - all at the same time - I found the presentation chaotic. Sometimes less is more.
