Interesting. It uses a coherer instead of a crystal and pin, or a diode or a razor blade and pin for a rectifier. It's the first radio build I've ever seen that used one, and I've seen a lot of simple radio projects.

Intresting coherer, I wouldn't have considered using iron filings. Don't know that I would gamble my life on it in a survival situation but makes a darn good remote control for an LED night light.

nice idea. but i had to mute the video and give a dislike on that music. next time record the actual working sounds in high quality, thats statisfying to listen to.

That is just how the early receivers worked. The device was reset using I believe some clockwork device that shaked it. Morse was sent using a spark transmiter.
