Thank you so much for your video. I’ve been making some project bags and suffering through zippers. First thing I noticed with your video, the zipper being 1” shorter and, the not sewing into the zipper tab when sewing the outer seams. Oh, and the glue stick idea. I saw double sided tape used and couldn’t find it. Thank you so much. I hope my next zipper is much easier. Awesome video and great tips.

I’ve been sewing things for years. I have a really nice Bernina, but it has been in the closet for years. I really need to " re familiarize" myself with the machine. ololol I did make a few items with a zipper but that was YEARS ago. I need a refresher course & I’ve watched other instructional videos and still got lost because they sped up the video. Yours was the only one I’ve seen that actually makes me want to watch all the way through. I wanted to make a whole bag for a trip that I am taking and a nice one for my son's wedding in April. I have time over the holidays since I will be home & I am going to do yours first & follow the step by step instructions. Thank you so much for your excellent descriptions

I almost skipped this video, as I've watched *many* tutorials on zippered pouches, and I'm so glad that I decided to watch it anyway. So many helpful tips! Using the glue stick is simply brilliant. Moving the zipper tab out of the way makes so much sense. The way you did the topstitching, making the rectangle across the zipper rather than two separate edge-to-edge lines is another great tip. I've saved this to my "stitchy hings" playlist (yes, hings, I was amused by the typo when I made the playlist & never corrected it) and I'm sure I'll be referencing it the next time I make a pouch.

❣what a lovely video!! Exactly what I was looking for, without background 'noise'. It reminded me why I loved sewing class in high school (many decades ago!). Those little bags would be great little gifts - I could buy the little quilting squares for the fabric. I had a zippered bag from Thirty-One that I used forever, I used it as a purse when I just wanted to carry the essentials. Their prices are outrageous now, and since you showed me how to make my own zippered bag/purse, I'm going to make a bunch! Thanks, Jan~

New subscriber from Australia. Thank you for the instructions, which are so clear. I would love to have a go at making these. I know you make it look easy but I don’t find anything to do with sewing easy. I did have sewing lessons years ago and used to make my children pyjamas, track suits, skirts and dresses but I’ve forgotten everything that I learned back then. I’m okay making simple things like curtains, runners and table cloths etc., but I’d so love to make other things. My sister is a sewer and she did that for work for years but she has no patience with me so I don’t ask her lol. I’ve picked up some ways to make fancy bits at the end of curtains etc., and I’m okay with that. Thank you for your videos, I look forward to many more with your calmness. That certainly helps when trying to teach someone something new. Have a great week.

The pouches were easy to make with your zipper technique along with the lining making them very nice for a special gift! Thanks for sharing!
