Is there any reason the remaining butter cannot go in the frying pan, deglaze it, then be decanted over the slices?

I only have my steaks well done because I don't like blood in my food. How long would I have to cook it to be well done and what's the temperature supposed to be?

Great that people loved my comment, but can somebody answer the question? Can you still cook it well done without ruining it? How long and at what temperature for well done?

My mother, when making steak, used to turn it every minute. She said it kept the juices inside the meat. Mom knew her stuff, now didn't she?

This steak should be at room temperature before you cook it too. If it's right out of the refrig, you will get uneven cooking, and you won't get the desired results. It won't hurt anyone to leave the steak out at room temperature for about a half hour to one hour, depending on how thick the steak is. It's done all the time in high quality steakhouses.
