I would like to apologize for the mispronunciation of the word “Succulents” it should be “Suh-kyu-lents” and not “suh-ka-lents”. If I mispronounced other words, I’m really sorry. I will be correcting this on the upcoming videos. In addition, I’ll try to buy some noise reduction microphone, so I can record during daytime and not late at night. This will give me enough time and energy to thoroughly review the recordings before uploading the video. Expect in the upcoming videos that I’ll continue to improve my videos in order to provide quality, and concise contents. I’m open for all the suggestions and constructive criticism. Again, I’m really grateful to your continuous support to my Channel. Maraming salamat! 🙂

Hello everyone 👋🏻 Thank you for watching 🙂 For those asking where I buy the materials: For Ramgo products you can buy them in Ace hardware, or handyman. If you are in Metro Manila and willing to pay a shipping fee, just contact them on Facebook (Ramgo Seeds). You may screenshot their packaging on the video to help you out finding these. For the Cocopeat with Charcoal, I also buy this at Ace hardware of Handyman. The brand I use is Cocogreen. Note: You can use other brands of vermicast or cocopeat. Cocopeat doesn’t vary much. For pumice, perlite, and vermiculite, I usually buy these during events from (Arneth, or Everrich) or on the physical store of Everich in Quezon City Memorial Circle. These materials also don’t vary much. You can check Lazada or shoppee for these products. Again, remember to clean the pumice and dry them under the sun for at least 5 days. Making sure that all the materials you used are clean is important to avoid root rot and other pest infestation. UPDATE: For vermicast I’m using Kahariam vermicast since it is both FPA registered and OCCP certified. You don’t have to sift this since it is already sifted. I can assure you that this one is clean and 90% vermicast. Thank You 🙂

What exactly is the "soil less medium"? Is it peat?
@WestValleyTransparency
Жыл бұрын
Peat moss is hydrophobic, which means it must be moist AT ALL TIMES, which isn't good for succulents. If it dries out, it won't absorb water as you water it. Coco coir would be good because you would have less difficulty watering it👍🌱

what is the difference between cocopeat and the soilless medium?
@theplantprinceph

Thank you for watching! 🙂Cocopeat can be a component of soilless medium. Soilless medium is a medium wherein there’s no soil. It’s just made of different organics like peat, wood chips, biochar, bark, coir and etc. The soilless medium I used, based from its look is composed of biochar.

@theplantprinceph
3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! Usually kapag ornamental plants you don’t need to dry since moisture is part ng vermicast kaso when it comes with Cactus and Succulents, hindi sila used or sanay sa basa na medium when potting , prone sila with bacterial and fungal rot when newly potted. That’s why binibilad ko si Vermicast para mabawasan ‘yung moisture niya.

@theplantprinceph
4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! The soilless is basically any organic material without soil. It is usually composed pf biochar, cocopeat or other oraginc. Its composition varies depending on the brand. Potting mix is the general term for the medium used when potting. Soilless is also considered as a potting mix. In thins video the soilless I used is mainly composed of biochar.

Thank you for watching! I don’t recommend using loam soil, garden soil, or animal manure since it may contains microbes or substance that can harm our succulents po.

@@theplantprinceph I'm growing mediterreanean herbs, not succulents exactly. But they often recommend a succulent potting mix. I'm just wondering if a smaller size is the way to go for that like 'maytanghito?'

Nek Ska Peh I’m not familiar with mediterreanean herbs but on making succulent soilmix or as a amendment for garden soil, I always prefer the smaller such as mungo and matanghito size.

@@theplantprinceph Oregano, marjoram, thyme, rosemary, sage are all Mediterreanean herbs. The potential for root rot is particularly a problem here in Phils. I had not thought of going this way about it until reading up on it more.

Ohhh. Yes, root rot is a problem here in the Philippines especially for those plants that thrive in arid regions. The humidity and precipitation here is high, and normal garden soil get sticky when wet.That’s why it is recommended to add some pumice ore perlite, or any inorganic that can loosen up the soil and provide air channels for the plant roots to breathe.

Bro can we give npk 19:19:19 foliar spray to succulents and cacti?
@theplantprinceph
2 жыл бұрын
I don't recommend spraying 19:19:19 foliar spray for succulents. It is much safer to use slow release fertilizer. Too much fertilizer may cause etiolation and make the succulent leaf bigger and not compact.

Yes, since it may contains pests, and usually succulents from nurseries are grown in heavily peat based media

@theplantprinceph

Thank you very much for watching! 🙂 I added perlite po to make the soilmix a little bit lighter, if wala po kayong perlite you can use pumice na lang. I don’t recommend lava rock as a substitute for perlite since Lava rocks are much heavier kaya mas bibigat lang ‘yung soilmix.
