Thanks for watching! Glad it helped with your session. Here's a video on creating a mastering chain - you won't need all of the steps for a simple arrangement, but it should be helpful nonetheless: kzitem.info/news/bejne/1G2ql2moj3Nnn44

I like how you put the Gulfoss in the beginning for the “mix” videos and last for the “master” videos. Makes a lot of sense!

I like the ideas and chain in general, but speaking about the track in this example, I don’t think that it benefit from what you’ve done. The vocal, which is main part of the mix not in the pocket and whole track after you chain sounds a bit boomy and loose brightness. I think this chain could work on more or less electronic instrumental tune, but for the pop tune, I think you need to brighten up the mix and process vocal during mixing stage more carefully. My opinion, tho. Maybe I am wrong, don’t throw stones in me ;)

Greetings from lima peru, it is the best page I have seen about audio, a question, it is seen a lot in youtube pages and forums that the topdown technique is widely used to mix, I see that you do not use this technique, which you recommend about it. Blessings

But doesn't the mix-knob in the c2 only affect how much gain reduction happens? Like when you dial in 3db of gr and set the mix to 50% there would then only happen 1.5db gr. I could be wrong but I do the parallel-compression with the dry and wet knobs since the mix doesn't do the expected thing - at least in my experience.

It makes alot of sense what you say yes. So by having the same signal on a signal wil add a 3db increase So if you have the limiter/compressor on and you have a -3db gain reduction and put the plugins wet/dry mix to 50% what wil actually happen to the signal? 1.5db increase like you mentioned? This is a really good and interesting question

@@etienneekron98 I think you overthink the process here. On the pro c2 it's like that. The mixknob just decreases the amount of gain reduction. I don't know why they call it a mixknob when it doesn't react like you would expect a mixknob on a compressor but I'm fine with it since you can do the parallel compression with the dry/wet-gain-knobs

I love this song! Not sure I like the compression at the end of this chain. I think I would leave it off. Just my opinion.
