Franco... What would a pre 64 silver dime do? And how about a golden shiner spray job on that wood ? Very nice job. The way that dimes flashes brings a whole new dimension to the lure. Maybe a polished copper dime sized disc might be in order for experiment?

At first I thought let's just pop in to support the channel and skip to the end because I've got so many crank baits already and really feel like I've got that particular type of lure figured out (thanks to my favorite engineer), but as usual I made it to the end and what a happy one it was. Franco really understands the fine art of lure porn. Don't ever change the music for the underwater shots. It's too good.

I live on Chickamauga Lake the most over pressured mudhole in the south. I fish to be alone and that doesn't happen anymore so I sold my Ranger but kept my 1985 Lowe 16' flat bottom. In 2017 I did a makeover on the boat and the Super Pickle was born. I cleaned 1985 and 2017 pennies in hot sauce, sprayed them with clear lacquer, and siliconed them in the live well as kind of a wishing well. I like projects with the date on them.

@@EngineeredAngler My wishing well doesn't always work as well as I would like. I had a lot of fun building that old boat and people don't follow ya around. If it was for sale this is how the ad would read. 1985 Lowe with original 40 hp Johnson engine with good compression Reinforced aluminum transom to support an aluminum jack plate (runs in extremely shallow water) Extended aluminum deck with single or side by side seating with storage. 40 lb thrust Minn Kota trolling motor T-H Marine G-Force prop nut Two 9" Humminbird Helix graphs with Humminbird 360. (One on the front and one on the dash). LED running, navigation, interior, compartment, live well , and night fishing lights on the sides. Minn Kota onboard charger Live well pump with timer Custom console with drink holders Driftmaster TS-2160 rod holders (keeps rods off the floor) Automatic bilge pump OOGA horn The Trailer Fresh paint and pen stripes Aluminum wheels LED running and tail lights Boat guides Trailer steps Haha I don't think I'm upside down on it. It needs power poles but I couldn't run it as high in the boat dock if it had poles.

Well it floats nose down with probably not a whole lot of room to spare but the action is not there. I'm not done messing with it but I think it might partially be the shape I went with. I kind of went with a boxy shape with a boot tail carved into it and vertical ribs on the side.

Just a quick point, did you consider factoring in the drill holes that would take the hook hangars? Although minimal, as you were talking such minute amounts it might be worth considering the volumes of the holes. Just a thought.

I wish you would write a book, a study of 200 lures or something like that. One page one lure, explaining how it works, why it works, what makes it work, and what would affect its action if tampered with. Instead, we have catalogs with corporate marketing nonsense and books with collector values. A few how to make lures books don't go into principles all that much, but focus on recipes.
