Today, I’m sharing how to make an amazing homemade apple pie from scratch. The pie crust is so flaky, and the apple filling so melty and is packed with flavor.
I love apple pies SO MUCH that I used to sell only that menu locally. It has been my favorite baked dessert since I was little. And I’m excited to share one of my favorite apple pie recipes! I bet this will be a big hit for your family and guests.

📌 The Ingredients To Make Apple Pie
Makes about 1 9-inch | 23 cm pie
[Pie Dough]
• All-purpose flour: 375 g | 13.2 oz (3 US cups * Calculated as 1 cup = 125 g, the surface leveled.)
• Granulated sugar: 1 Tbsp
• Salt: 1/2 tsp
• Unsalted butter: 226 g | 8 oz (2 US sticks)
• Icy water: 110 g | 3.9 oz
• Oil: 1 Tbsp
• Bread flour (or all-purpose flour) to roll the dough: some
[Apple Filling]
• Apple (Peeled and cored): 1350 g | 3 pounds (I used 900 g | 2 pounds of Granny Smith and 450 g | 1 pound of Golden Delicious.)
• Granulated sugar: 200 g | 7 oz (1 US cup)
• Salt: 1/4 tsp
• All-purpose flour: 2 Tbsp
• Cornstarch: 2.5 Tbsp * Level the surface.
• Cinnamon: 1/2 Tbsp
• Nutmeg: 1/4 tsp
• Lemon zest: 1 lemon
• Lemon juice: 1/2 Tbsp
[Assembling]
• Butte to spread over a pan: some
• Butter to place on top of filling: 1 Tbsp
• Egg white: some
• Granulated sugar: 25 g | 0.9 oz (1/8 US cup)
• Cinnamon: 1/8 tsp
** For best results, measure ingredients with a scale. All recipes are designed with weighed ingredients using grams/ounces. Cup measurements are provided for your convenience. **
Bake at 425 F | 218 C for 10 minutes, turn it down to 375 F | 190 C and bake for another 60 - 70 minutes.
* Chill the assembled pie for 30 minutes before baking.
