Lemonwood, or Degame, does not come from a Lemon tree but is called lemonwood due to its light color. I have heard of so many different bows from the early target archery period using this wood for their bows with great success, so I wanted to give it a try. This was my first time working with the wood and making a bow out of it and I am pleased to say that it was a great success!
Biggest lesson learned was during the glue up of the Purple Heart handle riser onto the bow blank. After working it a little bit and starting to floor tiller the bow, I saw that the handle riser was moving. After another attempt, I used the bowyer epoxy EA-40 smooth on and that did the trick.
Other than that, this wood worked very similar to other white woods.
