There's something about Oldhammer that's just special. It was cheesy at times but it was part of the charm of it, and I wish GW still made "customer friendly" stuff like the DIY articles instead of advertising $100 1'x1' blocks of resin

I'd not say GW back in 2nd ed WH 40k was customer friendly. I still remember the constants price hikes that drove me out of the hobby.

After reading that article in my youth,I made a whole table worth of scenery including bunker based on the design. I've still got a few left. Can't believe it's over 25 years old.

ScifiWargamers still going strong. It's more down to the fact that I sealed them with a million coats of varnish. Card with deteriorate overtime if not properly looked after.

I made these off this video about 3 years ago, I played a number of games with them but I ended throwing them out because the modern 32mm bases would fit in it very well. But now I have a 2nd edition army that will go nicely with old white dwarf terrain like this!

(Just started painting not too long ago, and I haven't taken the plunge into playing 40k/Killteam yet.): imgur.com/r/WarhammerInstructions/90Hrc A bunch of mini painters on KZitem did a colab series not too long ago where they all scratch built the deodorant speeders. That one is way more straight forward slap greebles onto the anti-smell-stick and paint it.

How I wish I could get all the old Rogue Trader models. Too bad GW doesn't re-release them. I honestly wish someone would recast to be honest. Would love to have the old squats, first marines, first orks and harlequins etc...

@@SnakeWorksStudio That's a good question. I think I would love a squat and imperial guard army, perhaps marines against Eldar or Orks. It would be so much fun. Also I have a passion for those models. I know some prefer the new highly detailed CAD made ones, but I am partial to those early sculpts. I can still remember the first miniatures I ever bought, RTB01. Will never forget that feeling.

Takes me back making this with my 40k second edition . Love the space crusade music from the video game in background, that’s what got me in to 40k in first place . Playing space crusade board game and the video game on the Atari .

This is a great article, I kinda sorta remember it! I'd like to take a crack at this but I'd go one step further and make it out of sheet styrene or what the Brits call plasti-card so that it really lasts many games. The more you put into it, the better the results!

@@SnakeWorksStudio not this one but I have very fond memories of have terrain making days at my local GW. They would get all the kids involved and by the end of a weekend they would have table and tables of terrain. I was always a fan on Pringles tubes as towers.

I've had recent suspicions that cereal box card has got much thinner, and looking at the photographs from this issue it is true! Modern cereal is practically packaged in paper!
