Hello Sound In The City, quick question, why did your DAW export multiple stems upon bouncing your session instead of exporting the entire mix in one file? Thanks in advance!

Andrés Acosta In this example we are sending STEMS to another mixer, producer, beat maker or engineer so they can collaborate with us or mix/remix our song/beat. So the fastest way to export all audio files in the session individually is through the Track>Bounce function. Hope this clears it up.

So I sent my stems to an engineer and now they’re asking for how many stems are in the file (since they can’t view it at the moment) and tbh I want to know how do you how many stems you have in a file and is it the individual tracks with in a stem?

Probably asking how many individual tracks they should see in their DAW... like if you sent 2 vocal tracks, ad libs, the beat, and sound effects = that would be 5 tracks/stems/trackouts (these words get used interchangeably, and not in the correct way). Just let them know how many files they will be importing in to their session so it matches what you have on your side.
