I like the redesign, I think it works well for a certain "Specific Audience", but the other design was more general to the public. I think you focused it more on a certain niche of people, which I don't know if it was the main objective of the poster.

“When you design for everyone, you design for no one”. You pointed out the exact issue with the original. Reason why the most successful companies use real designers who will tailor to their specific needs, instead of buying these cheap generic designs. I understand why the need for these designs, but ultimately it will never be as successful as true tailored designs.

@@SatoriGraphics Wrong, it still demands the person to turn their head around it. It’s not only the angle/orientation of the text but also the color choice. The original is more effective at delivering the information in any scenario. The newer one has a narrower opportunity for persons to grasp its information quickly.
@daungiventi3970

@@Pix256making a poster for “just” delivering information doesn’t always mean better though… For example a blank white background with simple black text can be maximally effective for delivering info, but it’s a bad design for branding, keeping interest, being memorable, conveying an emotion, etc. There’s much more psychology involved in design than just being able to read something. Every good designer knows this.

You definitely have better hierarchy than the previous deisgn, but I don't find what you've done all that interesting. I'm not in the "rave scene", but the first design has more energy and edge to it than yours. There is also considerably more depth to the previous design. I feel like what you did was just playing with the effects rather than trying to capture the essence of the event. Yours is considerbly easier to read, and again, your hierarchy is much better. I just don't feel like this was an improvement on the previous work. IMO

I like the new design better! Unique and far more eye-catching! More importantly, the visual pace works surprisingly well! I was also concerned that the secondary DJs and "Special Evening" being white would stand out more than the main DJ and the event location but reading it after it's finished to see where my eyes go, I don't think that's an issue. The white 15 on the lime green is very difficult to read for me, however. The poster is also missing a date, one of the most important elements, but I'm sure you would have included it if you were given actual copy. (I think the 19 07 15 circles on the original poster are supposed to be the date, July 19, 2015. A bit of a mess, haha)

For the original design, it definitely lacks an image, such as a dancing girl/boy or DJ face, which would be a great addition. The original work is a little confusing for me, especially considering the background building and the event being on the beach. Additionally, a combination of purple, blue, and black would be better, perhaps with a touch of neon colors. As for your work, I feel it's more suited for a futuristic-style event, but not necessarily a live event on the beach. Nevertheless, it's an interesting approach to work with 3D, and I appreciate the video and this channel. Thank you:)

Sorry but 100% the original version. Legibility is way worse in the “updated”. It’s so much worse that makes people ignore because it forces them to make an effort to start doing the reading. In contrast the original one can be understood even from afar. Information reaches the person way more effectively. Also colours are better in the original, the newer uses a inferior type of contrast handling to the point its worsening the reading experience
