art isn’t meant to do anything, or to prove anything. Art is art. I’d argue it’s impossible not to find some feeling when looking at something, but we should not value art by its meaning, or it’s work, or even the time put into it. Art is something existing, and in the eye of the beholder is where it finds a biased worth. Art can be a feeling, or it can be an appearance, or it can be a concept. Whatever you want.

@@coolsaige "art isn’t meant to do anything, or to prove anything" is what I first said i guess?? saying it can be whatever you want also buys into that. art can have meaning, specific art pieces can be "meant", but the concept of art does not have to exist because of its meaning. Some people find certain types of art more appealing, or some people renounce certain mediums of art entirely. its an opinionated thing, and I dont think that contradicts itself?? I apologize if I didnt come across super clear. art CAN be these things, but it doesnt need to be in order to be classified as art.

once a guy told me that art cant look bad. Its imagination and creativity and even if something does look bad to you its actually beautiful in its own way. This is what I hate about my design school, every book they make us read treats art as just a product and the designer as just someone who makes said product, that we have to be efficient, how "good" art can be only beaultiful, or it won't sell. It's really frustrating loving art and being in a career path where people are taught to hate anything outside the box, even more frustrating because most people in the course are artists, idk if they are as stubborn and anti establishment like me to not believe everything the teachers say, but one can only hope.

In college there were some artists like this. Some of our peers hated them; they make a mockery of the system, it isn’t fair that they get the same grades i do for two weeks of work. Some of our peers thought they were genius, just naturally so gifted, and felt pleased to be sharing class time with them. I’m in the latter camp, and you’re such a gifted creative. This is so much better than anything "AI artists" are making. They say that AI opens up the process of making art to anyone, even if you're not trained or skilled. But it already is. Just make shit, it doesn't have to conform to people's expectations of what "good art" should be. Something that you make yourself and is a genuine expression of you is always young to be 1000 times better than something a soulless "AI" does for you. Allow your art to be imperfect, that's what makes it beautiful.
