Making Turkish Baklava, with walnuts in every layer. You will love the shape. I will also show you how you can roll the sheet filo pastry using oklava. This baklava is special to my hometown Kastamonu in the Black Sea Türkiye, has beautiful crunchy layers with walnuts.
Ingredients For Baklava:
1 egg
1/4 cup each milk, vegetable oil, water
1 tsp baking powder
2 tsp vinegar
close to 3 cups flour
200gr. finely ground walnuts
to make the layers about 200gr. wheat or corn starch
to butter the layers:
200gr. butter, melted and foam discard
1/4 cup vegetable oil
For the syrup
1+3/4 cup water (400ml)
2 cups sugar
small lemon wedge or 1 tsp lemon juice
