Hello, thank you for making this video possible for those of us who want to learn this art technique. I’m a bit confused, so may I ask if you mix the Floetrol with the deep base and the house paint and then individually color each portion with the Colourarte pigments? Thank you for your help.
@TheWellEducatedArtist

Hi there! No,if you need to thin your white house paint base/pillow you use the Floetrol or water. The deep base is an uncolored paint that you add your colors to, which or in the form of powdered pigment or regular acrylic art paint or craft paint. The deep base (uncolored) is usually thinned with a water based varnish like Jo Sonja. I’m sorry. I should have shown you how to mix the bloom paint but I do have a video on how to mix bloom paint which goes through the hole process if you need it. Thanks for,watching!

Like your explanation. Thank you How do I get more lacing?
@TheWellEducatedArtist
5 ай бұрын
Using more cell activator (swiping paint) like Amsterdam paint and Australian floetrol mixed together will give more lacing. Also, certain paints are more prone to lace. Unfortunately, that is a trial and error process! Sometimes pearlized paints and pigments do lace more. You can also try blowing the paint vs swiping.

Can. Skins be used for placemats?
@TheWellEducatedArtist

Skins could be used for placemats if they have a protective covering that is washable such as laminating paper or resin…

This is so helpful! What is your CA recipe if you don't mind me asking?
@TheWellEducatedArtist
11 ай бұрын
The CA recipe for that one I believe was Amsterdam Titanium White and Australian Floetrol. I do have another recipe without Aussie Floetrol I use sometimes that works well. There is a full video explaining that one. It uses Amsterdam, mineral spirits, glue, water and American Floetrol.

What is your ratio for your cell activator?
@TheWellEducatedArtist
3 ай бұрын
If I’m using the classic Aussie Floetrol recipe my cell activator is around 2 parts Aussie Floetrol to 1 part paint. I tend to use a thinner cell activator with as little paint as I can get away with that will still hold the cell shape. Thanks for watching!

What is the name of white stuff on your speeder?

Are you referring to the cell activator on the pallet knife that makes the cells? It’s classically made from Amsterdam Titanium White and Australian Floetrol but has many recipes.

Hello. I love your work. I'm a bit confused about how you used the tile. Did you cover the tile with freezer paper and tape it in the back. How would I seal the skin to the tile if I wanted to use it? Once cured do you resin? Thanks
@TheWellEducatedArtist
Жыл бұрын
Thank you! You are exactly right. Freezer paper is taped in the back of the tile. It just makes a small square skin. You can always put the paint directly on the tile if you wanted to to make a coaster and don’t need a skin. If you wanted to attach a skin back to the tile you would remove it from the paper and use an adhesive like E 6000 or even Diamond Glaze which does’t usually damage this type of skin. And yes I would use resin to protect the skin.
