Love the idea, however I know tamarind is slow growing and if one wants a thicker trunk, the branches need to be left long to signal to the trunk to thicken for support. By trimming them, the trunk will slow its growth...

Hi, Thanks for the info and getting in touch. If you can grow tamarind trees from seeds in Canada, then it can be done here in England. Can I trouble you to email me the method and conditions you used to germinate the seeds and the after care for the seedlings to thrive. Also the length of time it took to germinate. my email is: info@mikbonsai.co.uk. Kind regards Iqbal Khan London

My request to all people.. Please don't make bonsai trees. It's totally bad karma.. You are purposefully stopping the growth of a tree... Which is a living being.. Nature doesn't make bonsai.. It's made by man.. No tree ever deserves to become a bonsai... The very nature of the trees is to grow in vast size and give flowers, fruits, shelter to other living beings.. Just because it looks cute to humans doesn't mean it's good... Please stop making bonsai and free the trees to grow to there full potential and stop imprisoning the trees in the prison of bonsai..

Hells Belle I agree but just because something is very old doesn't make it good. The very nature of tree is to grow in vast size and give fruits, flowers, shelter to birds and living beings and shade for humans.....Buddha taught, "that if possible do good to others. If not possible then please don't do harm".
