On this episode of Snack Back: Cheese Puffs
RECIPE BELOW
1 cup of water
1/2 cup of butter
1 teaspoon of salt
2 cups of all purpose flour plus 1/3 cup for dusting
3 eggs
1.5 cups of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons of powder cheese
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Step 1
Combine water, butter and salt in a saucepan or pot until the butter melts.
Step 2
Turn the pot down to medium heat, Add the flour the the pot and mix it all together until a batter forms. Take it off the heat and let it cool to room temperature.
Step 3
Crack an egg into the pot and combine the batter like mixture with the egg. Add another egg after the first one has combine, and the last egg after that.
Step 4
Add the cheddar cheese to the mixture and mix it all together.
Step 5
Once the mixture is creamy and blended together, put the ball of batter into a bowl of flour and dust the flour onto it.
Step 6
Lay out a piece of parchment paper and put the ball of batter on top. Proceed to roll out the mixture into a thin cylinder.
Step 7
Cut little tabs of the batter off the rolled cylinder and out them on a baking sheet. Put them in the oven for 10 minutes.
Step 8
After the 10 minutes, turn down the oven to 350 degrees F. and continue cooking the puffs for another 15 minutes. Take them out of the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes.
Step 9
Add the puffs to a resealable bag. Put the powder cheese inside. Blow up the bag creating a balloon like shape, close it up and shake the puffs around completely covering them in the cheese.
