In today’s video we are doing practical pattern draft of a blazer coat / jacket sleeves @topts(topstitch tailoring studio)
Using measurements of this table that we used in our
Previously sleeve coat theory calculation tutorials
Part 3 Theory calculation Sleeve part
So in our reference table:
Coat sleeve length = 24”
Guide 1
These requirements are needed when drafting any pattern for this project I will need:
A note book
Drawing rulers preferably fashion rulers if you have them but for my case I will be using this.
You will also need a tracing wheel
Paper scissors
Tape measure and
Different color marker pens
So ladies and gentlemen
I will start by marking 2”
On this side I mark and square 2” a cross.
The using my ruler I square a straight line connecting these points together like this ……………
Also I come on the top of my pattern paper I still mark 2” across
After I square a straight line to these points.
Guide 2
When drafting a sleeve pattern you have to draw one vertical straight line and 7 horizontal lines which are distanced and placed vertically from each other using the body calculations as you will be seeing in this video.
To elaborate them better I will be marking and labeling these 7 lines alphabetically
So in our reference table:
#Coat full length = 29“
#Shoulder XB = 16”
#Round chest = 36”
#Belly/tummy = 34”
#Round hips = 37”
