This low-calorie drink is perfect for dinner. Substituting water with a cardamom infusion intensifies the bitterness of the coffee beans, with canned fruit contributing a fruity aftertaste and a delicate aroma.
Ingredients:
4-5 cardamom seeds
210 ml (7 fl oz) water
1-2 tsp ground coffee
3 slices of canned or fresh pineapple
3 canned cherries
Method:
1.Place cardamom in a saucepan and add water. Bring it to a boil and heat over low heat for 5 minutes.
2. Let the infusion cool naturally (or in the refrigerator) for 1 hour.
3. Strain through a fine sieve and heat.
4. Use the cardamom infusion to brew the coffee in any preferred way.
5. Place ice in a tall, heat proof glass.
6. Pour hot coffee over the ice cushion.
7. Garnish with pineapple and cherries.
Tip! Skewer the fruits in advance.
