mixing trace elements in ato , good idea ? assuming you roughly have an idea of the amount of water your tank evaporates
@ParkersReef
Жыл бұрын
Not the best as it can vary your dosage day to day, plus once you mix it in your ato it’s hard to vary
@EIY_Kumar

@@ParkersReef okay .. so dosing manually is the best option

In the first instance yes. If you find your tank on a constant pattern, then you could investigate the ato option

I would bet that one of the elements he is dosing also has magnesium in it and therefore he's unknowingly adding magnesium, which is why he sees an apparent drop in magnesium uptake from the corals.

@ParkersReef

not at all! If it suits you really depends on your aquarium and why you do water changes. Most do it to remove excess nutrients and to replenish trace elements. In Michael's case, he doesn't have excess nutrient (is actually dosing it in) and is adding all of his required trace elements daily.
@TheHemiphil81

Another great video. Interesting about the Magnesium uptake. I stopped dosing trace a few weeks ago to combat a cyano outbreak and the Magnesium consumption has nearly doubled. I also found issues with too many Aminos so going light on that these days. It would be nice to be able to see those corals in person living in Sydney. Sad they're being shipped interstate.
