In this video, I will show you how to make a professional and attractive CV in Microsoft word. A CV, or curriculum vitae, is a document that summarizes your education, skills, work experience, and achievements. A CV can help you stand out from other candidates and impress potential employers.
To make a CV in Microsoft word, you will need to follow these steps:
1. Choose the size of the paper. The standard size for a CV is A4, which is 21 x 29.7 cm. To change the paper size, go to the Layout tab, click on Size, and select A4 from the drop-down menu.
2. Insert a picture of yourself. A picture can make your CV more personal and memorable. To insert a picture, go to the Insert tab, click on Pictures, and choose a photo from your computer. You can resize and crop the picture by dragging the corners or using the Picture Tools Format tab. You can also adjust the brightness, contrast, and color of the picture using the Corrections and Color options. You should place the picture in the top right corner of your CV, leaving some space for your name and contact details.
3. Put in all the details. The details of your CV should include your name, contact details, personal profile, education, work experience, skills, and achievements. You can use different headings and fonts to organize and highlight your information. You can also use bullet points, tables, and charts to present your data in a clear and concise way. You should use a reverse chronological order for your education and work experience, meaning that you start with the most recent ones and go backwards. You should also use keywords that are relevant to the job you are applying for, such as skills, qualifications, and responsibilities.
4. Save it as PDF or word document. To save your CV, go to the File tab, click on Save As, and choose a location and a name for your document. You can save your CV as a PDF or a word document, depending on the preference of the employer. A PDF file is more secure and preserves the formatting of your CV, while a word document is more editable and compatible with different software. To save your CV as a PDF, select PDF from the Save as type drop-down menu. To save your CV as a word document, select Word Document from the Save as type drop-down menu.
5. Print it. To print your CV, go to the File tab, click on Print, and choose your printer and settings. You can preview your CV before printing by clicking on the Print Preview button. You can also adjust the margins, orientation, and scaling of your CV by clicking on the Page Setup link. You should print your CV on a high-quality paper, preferably white or cream, and use a professional and clean font, such as Arial or Times New Roman.
