Today Anne shares the recipe of a Soosay family favourite, Deep-fried Mutton Chops. The tasty mutton is coated in a crispy and delicious batter. Simply divine! She learnt this dish from her husband's sister decades ago. It still remains one of our most treasured dishes. Hope you enjoy it too! 😋😋😋
DEEP-FRIED MUTTON CHOPS
Ingredients:
MARINADE
1 kg mutton chops (about 12 pieces)
1 1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp garam masala
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp chicken powder
120 ml water
BATTER
1/2 medium red onion (chopped)
2 red chilli padi (chopped)
2 bunches coriander (cut coarsely)
100g self raising flour
25g rice flour
25g corn flour
1/2 tsp meat curry powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp cooking oil
1 egg
150ml water
GINGER GARLIC PASTE
200g old ginger
200g garlic
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
Blend all ingredients together into a paste
