These waxes are excellent both for the conservation and hydration of leather in bags. Shoes, boots and sheaths, as for the satin finish in various woods.
Each wax has specific uses changing part of the ingredients but maintaining the way to do it.
Follow the formula below.
Wax for leathers (bags, boots, sheaths, etc.)
- Beeswax - 2 tablespoons (30g)
- Cocoa butter (or coconut) - 2 tablespoons (30g)
- Castor oil - 4 tablespoons (60ml)
- Almond Oil - 4 tablespoons (60ml)
Wax for Wood (furniture, boxes, sculptures, etc.)
- Beeswax - 2 tablespoons (30g)
- Carnauba wax - 2 tablespoons (30g)
- Flaxseed oil - 4 tablespoons (60ml)
- Peroba oil - 4 tablespoons (60ml)
First add the waxes and heat them in "water bath" until they melt completely.
Continue stirring and then slowly add the two types of oil according to the specific recipe.
The first oil will cool the mixture causing wax cores to appear, so slowly add the mixture to allow it to melt again.
When the materials are fully mixed, you can start adding the second oil (always put the densest oil first). The mixture will be a little thicker so you need to stir well to mix it.
Continue to heat the mixture for 4 to 5 minutes making sure it does not boil. If you see steam coming out of your mix, reduce the heat and continue mixing.
Prepare your cans by removing the lids and aligning them. You can pour your mixture directly from your pyrex cup, filling them up under the lid.
If small tins can not be found, small jelly glasses may be used.
All that is left is to wait for the mixture to cool.
