But then I got lost in health issues and when I went to find you again I thought the site name was 'colormeworld' so naturally I couldn't find you and I was so bummed out. But I just found you on youtube and was thrilled. Now I won't forget your name anymore. You do great work and I am so glad to see your creations. Happy Trails and crafting.

thanks for sharing, always have fun watching ur vids. just another idea.... I had formed the shapes like you did for your flowers and leaves. Then I used the tacky glue on the wire - but instead of stretching the glue across I used pieces of fabric or netting or shiny tissue paper and let it dry completely. Then I came back and trimmed the edges of the fabric to be even with the edges of the wire. I used the sparkly paint on the flowers too. But I never thought about just using the glue! Super idea and I will definitely keep this in mind. THANK U!

Hi laurie. I love the idea of using fabric. That sounds really pretty. I think the fabric would be great for larger projects. Thanks for the tip. I will have to try that sometime. :) I never saw this done with glue either. The idea came to me and I was like... wow... I'll bet that could be neat. hehe Then I couldn't stop coming up with ideas. I think they will make great gifts too. :) I can't wait to wear my hair clips. I like to wear hair clips in the summer. Thank you so much for your wonderful comment and for watching. Hugs.

So my wife does her nails using the water marbling technique. She uses a twist on that to make large petals. She uses a plastic cup that her wire shape will fit into. She then fills the cup with purified water. Then she places a drop of nail polish in the middle of the water. That is followed by maybe 5 more drops, one at a time. She lightly blows on the polish until it dries. You will see the film slightly wrinkle when it is ready. Place the wire form into the polish just enough to very slightly push the film down. With the polish pushed down, use a toothpick to remove the polish outside of your wire form from the water. Gently pull the wire form out of the water. Let dry, and coat with Elmers for added strength. This makes it possible to do much larger shapes.
@jerrywhidby5259
10 жыл бұрын
I forgot to mention that you can dip the wire form more than once. Just let it dry between dips. My DW tried to just paint the petals at first, but the new polish dissolved the old. This method gives her very thin streak free results.

Thank you so much for your tutorial. I'm new to making jewelry making. I have been looking online at other peoples tutorials for other items. I found yours and would like to thank you for sharing your technique!!! But more importantly, your explanation is easy and to the point, and your voice is very pleasant to listen to. Unfortunately I have found a lot of other tutorials waste time talking about nonsense and they have very whiny voices. I am so thrilled that I have found this, I am going to attempt to make a broach and add crystals. Again thank you so much!!!! Tina from Australia:-)

Wood glue works great! Pour a little in a small container (like a fat medicine/pill bottle) and dip the flower in. Dip a second time after about half an hour and let dry a couple of hours. Coat with nail polish. Wrap wires with floral tape and floral picks to make stunning arrangements.

Elmers wood glue worked wonders for me! I tried it myself after realizing mod podge does not work. The wood glue is wonderful, and is actually cheaper than the other suggest one. It takes a LONG time to dry. If your flower is level while it dries, and glue dries evenly without dripping. Also it is a very thick glue. No dryer necessary.

PVA glue worked just fine for me,honestly,I was pleasantly surprised and I simply poured a little glue puddle on a flat surface and dragged the wire leaves across it.Surprisingly it worked really well and quick as well. Then just stuck them into foam to sit until they dried on their own and painted, came out much better than expected.

I don't know what it was, but it was really liquidy and all you had to do is dip the wire into it and then sit it up in a styrofoam thing so it could dry. www.clayalley.com/dihow.htm here is a website that sells some similar stuff I found it when searching google. The liquid came in different colors also. You are welcome

hot glue will work as well and is quick. I make flowers out of soda bottles. I cut the shapes I want out of the top and the bottom of the bottle and make leaves out of the middle. I paint them with nail polish and use a heat gun on them (the hair dryer is usually not hot enough)the heat gun makes them shape into themselves and each one is unique. Since I use so much nail polish, i make the bottles and the brushes into fairy trees using the wire and hot glue to form the tree.

Nail varnish might cover it. i used Bostik All Purpose Glue, extra strong.

Pour all the Jot glue into the container and dip the wired flowers spin with fingers bring up outta the glue and stick into a floral foam ring to dry. It dries clear...Than paint with nail polish put back on foam to dry. When done put top back on container filled with glue for the next time ....

Thank you for showing this technique. My daughter and I were looking for a craft to do and tried making them but the wire was wrong and the directions never said anything about the glue.Cant wait to try making flowers and I love your dragon flies. Do you think the flowers are strong enough to make key chains? Thanks, Janet (pj 's account)

Pj Peters That is so exciting to hear . YAY!! I am very happy that this tutorial will inspire you to create new things. I do think that it is strong enough for a key chain as long as you use thicker wire. I have not had ANY issues with my projects coming apart. They seem very sturdy. Thank you so much for watching. :)

U n I must think ALOT a like as I had thought of this (to make the wings on a fairy jar for my niece) but never got arnd to trying it out. Trying it now bc uv done it beautifully!!!! I especially love the dragonfly. Trying it w the clear tacky glue (that's what I have on hand) n seems to b working but taking alot longer to dry....May have used too much???? Love these, very creative. Keep up the good work! ;)

Hi, could you let me know the kind of wire you used for the flower? I used the 0.28mm and it's kind of flimsy and the shape of the flower gets distorted. Should I use the 0.3mm or 0.4mm wires? Thanks

Does the nail polish or glue peel come off after wearing alot? Or does it stay on fully? I ask because i want to make a necklace but i don't want the polish or glue to warm and come off and leave a color on my skin

Thanks for the awesome question. I wear my bracelet all the time. Even in the shower. I haven't taken it off since making it. The glue has not softened and the polish is still holding strong. I also wear the necklace a lot. It is also still holding strong. I am VERY pleased with how all my pieces have turned out. :)

EasyMeWorld thank you for replying! It's good to know that it wont peel or come off! Now i won't have to worry to much about messing them up!
