I made these all the time when my kids were little but discovered another way to fry them, especially if you have a crowd and want something quicker. I used to pinch off small balls of dough and deep fry the balls then finish with butter and sugar and cinnamon. We always called them cinnam balls. They were awesome and cooked up so quick. Of course, I still love and make them the traditional way but the cinnamon balls cook up so much more in a smaller amount of time and are a hit in my family.

Putting the ingredients in the description box would save on going back over the recipe a few times. Using a cutter would help you make the “balls” easier.

Hi I just tried your recipe and followed your instructions. My dough was sticky and I could not roll it out so added more flour. This seeemed to solve my problem but when it came to frying they just came out tough. can you give me some insight on how to prevent sticky dough and tough ears??

baking soda does not have the same chemicals as baking powder so I don't think you can use baking soda instead of baking powder but you could use yeast 😊
