+IDreamofLifting Agreed. He's feckin' amazing. I love this dude. Not only does he make learning photoshop fun -- his instructions are so effective. He makes it easy and informative. Most people just say "do this, then do this." But Aaron ALWAYS explains WHY you do those things to an image. And because of that, it REALLY helps editors to be able to work with a larger variety of images -- instead of the type of photo used during the tutorial video.

Being fairly new to photography (started February of last year), I always recommend Phlearn to anyone starting out! How much I have learned from the videos I have watched, is incredible. Thank you so much! Each video I have watched, I'm ready to pack up my gear, go and photograph a model, come back home and put the information you have given us, to use.

Really appreciate and enjoy as well as learn about PS from you...Thanks. One thing, may be a tutorial, how do you know what setting/slider adjustments of the color channels in curves/levels, and of the adjustment layers where you can increase specific colors. Just to add red for instance can change the hue of other colors. Same goes with Green, Blue. I notice you increase one color and then decrease others to get a specific color tone. Hope I'm explaining this correctly as I have a hard time figuring this out. Thanks again.

You can also do this Dodge n Burn technique by 1) Make a Layer over everything 2) Go to Edit and Select Fill 3) Fill it with 50% Grey and press enter. 4) Convert layer into Overlay instead of Vivid Light. 5) Select Dodge tool for Highlights and Burn for Shadows. Dodge n Burn tools are located 3rd below Brush tool.

+Brittany Clow Brittany, I tried for a very long time to do that very thing and learned how to do it 2 years ago. I'm assuming you want to cut out a portion of one image and place it into another. If so, check out a piece of software called Topaz Remask. Go to www.topazlabs.com. Go to Products and look for Remask. To learn about it and see demonstrations go to youtube and type in --- topaz labs remask 5. This company has many tutorials on all of the software that they sell on youtube.

How can you place half transparent objects to your picture? For example if you have very funny picture of friend drinking water from plastic bottle, and you want to place him on to tropical beach. You crop him from one photo, place him to second photo, but you still have "old" background inside bottle. Even more, bottle has half transparent ornament on it...
