How to make sugarpaste headphones:
Materials Needed:
Modelling paste
Rolling pin
Knife or fondant cutter
Food coloring (optional)
Edible glue or water
Paintbrush
Big, medium and small round cutter
Toothpicks
Styrofoam
Steps:
Color the Sugarpaste: If you want colored headphones, knead food coloring into the sugarpaste until it reaches your desired shade.
Roll Out the Sugarpaste: Roll out the sugarpaste on a clean, flat surface using a rolling pin. Roll it to about 1mm thickness.
Cut Out Headphone Shapes: make a paper template and use a knife to cut out the fondant. Use fondant cutter to cut out two large circles for the earpieces. You can use a small round cutter to make holes in the center of the earpieces if desired.
Attach the Earpieces: Use edible glue or water to attach the earpieces to the ends of the headband. Press gently to ensure they stick together.
Add Details: If desired, you can add details such as buttons or logos to the earpieces using small pieces of sugarpaste or food coloring.
Let Dry: Allow the sugarpaste headphones to dry completely, preferably overnight. You can prop them up with toothpicks if needed to help them hold their shape.
Optional: Once dry, you can paint the headphones with edible paint to add further detail or shine.
Enjoy or Use as Cake Decorations: Once dry, your sugarpaste headphones are ready to be enjoyed as a standalone treat or used as decorations on cakes or cupcakes.
Remember to handle the sugarpaste gently to avoid damaging the shapes, and have fun getting creative with your designs!
