As a forager, I can confirm that this type of salve works as described. I wouldn't suggest using it on open wounds, but scratches, abrasions, light burns, bug bites, etc. it would be fantastic. I haven't made this exact recipe, but I've made things very similar.

Definitely going to make that this weekend. Got my chickweed today. You are such a gentle inspiration. Thanks for sharing. O have lots of rendertallow bit ordered another 10 kg fat to render. Your slow cooker method is the best. I saw another video of a.lady using a yogurt maker to infuse the oils. You just put the jar inside. Maybe easier without needing to check the water through the night. Or I will use my slow cooker

Thanks! There are different things that can be used topically for under eye circles, such as creams or gels containing caffeine, and that would be a great video topic! I will add that to my list. In the meantime, I know that not getting enough sleep and toxicity (poor gut health) can definitely contribute to dark under eye circles, so you might think about those things also.

Is there a reason you don't close the jar when you infuse the herbs in the water? Just curious! :)
@BumblebeeApothecary
4 жыл бұрын
Hello :) The herbs are actually being infused in oil, so there isn't any evaporation that would happen. You could put a lid on if you want, but it isn't necessary. The main reason I don't is because my stirring stick is too long for a lid :)

Are you using “suet” fat....or “suet/beef” combo fat?! As I’m researching the two....I have found that many are interchanging the two as being “suet organ fat”. If you are familiar with the difference of the two. Could you do a video to compare the texture, size of pieces, smell and nutrient value as you did with oils. Thx p
@BumblebeeApothecary

I am very familiar with the difference, yes! I choose suet whenever I can over trim fat. I might talk about it some in this video: kzitem.info/news/bejne/pn5run6dfKt7qJw

The recipe calls for tallow balm, is that just rendered tallow? Or do I need to make a balm for this ?
@BumblebeeApothecary
3 жыл бұрын
If you have rendered tallow that is softer, you can use straight tallow. If it's pretty hard, you'll want to add some liquid oil to make balm. Here is how to make balm: bumblebeeapothecary.com/how-to-make-tallow-balm/ Hope that helps!
