Now thats a really completely analytical video for sinew! Thats a really meticulous work -for the fibres and all. Blame on you! I have not read all the comments, but I think the water-glue concentration, the attachment of the horn, the attachment of the tendon, the essence of the wood, are all important to such a bow, but especially, the drying time is very important. With much respect and admiration Mihai !!!

I am wondering if you or someone could give me some advice with some horn damage on a carbon fiber/horn korean bow i just obtained on ebay. the upper part of the limb has a part of the horn that looks like it is starting to separate from the rest of the horn. It almost resembles perhaps an airbubble with the way the horn itself is delaminated there. The problem is not quite apparent until you string the bow, then the damaged horn slightly bows in away from the belly. when viewing the bow from the side there is a very small gap that perhaps glue could wick in and fill the void. When the bow is at rest the damaged horn that “bows” away from the belly settles with the rest of the horn. i could post a video if someone requests it. Thanks!
@jessewalby6631
5 жыл бұрын
Hi, I had a similar problem with one of mine. I got some flexible epoxy and put it on a playing card, then used the playing card to apply it inside the void. I then used a clamp to hold the pieces together while the epoxy set, might want a few clamps if its a large area. It worked well for me it's been two years since I fixed it and still holding up well.
@Soviless99
5 жыл бұрын
@@jessewalby6631 hey man thanks for the advice. Iv'e been afraid to string it since ive noticed the problem. I will try what you said. How hard should i clamp the bow? the area is probably just an inch vertically and half an inch perpendicularly to the bow. So perpendicularly it is not across to the other side of the bow. one final question, what was the epoxy you used. I have dried hide glue cubes i could use as well.

Dont know what you mean by "riser". Longer lims are more unstabil, and weaker. This geometry of mongol bow is perfect, they knew what they were doing, thousands and thousand battles formed this type of bow :)
