Oh I would make ketchup every year when before my ruptured brain stem aneurysm and 8x strokes. But I made big batch and was all day coming out with about 20 quarts a batch. We loved to make BBQ sauce also. Many years we hit are gold of 75 quarts each.

Love this channel! Will you do a video on makin ACV? How long would you say you’ve loved this way? Or maybe how long did it take to get to where you are on your property for foraging, growing and harvesting. Cheers from Canada!

For the left over skins after putting through strainer, would the flavor be gone from it? Or would dehydratingor freeze drying and then made into powder be good for soupmbases or stews?

Did you have to process it in a water bath? If so how long?

Yup, we boiled it for 15 minutes. This is basically the recipe that we followed: nchfp.uga.edu/how/can_03/tomato_ketchup.html

@@HomegrownHandgathered So happy to see you promoting National Center for Home Food Preservation for recipes!!! So many "crunchy" folks have some questionable 😬 canning practices and this is wonderfully refreshing and increases my already-immense respect of you.

Nooooooo! That tomato water could go in the garden or some soup. But, thanks for the catsup recipe. I will be doing that this winter, AND making soup!

This was pretty cool! And so inspiring! You make me want to just start cooking and making a bunch of stuff! For the ketchup, because it was warm from being cooked, do you let it get room temperature and just store it on shelves or do you let it get room temperature and then store in the refrigerator?

All of that """"water"""" you poured away is flavour and sweetness. 😨 it would have reduced in the pot and left all it's goodness.

@@Madamoizillion it's basically pure concentrated tomato flavour. trust me. they won't "notice" but it ain't gonna win an award either

The tomato paste that was waste, you could add to recipes that call for ketchup since it has the spices in it already. Waste not.
