Hey all!
It's true! Chef has finally dropped his homemade mashed potatoes recipe! He has been teasing this on so many videos! He also has been working and added tips and tricks for years now and he thinks he finally might have the recipe he loves! Please note a few things. You can use any potato you want to make mashed potatoes. However, some are just better per there starch count. Below we will again give your ideas on what the most popular potatoes are good for.
This dish is also Gluten Free! Chef also wants to say these are your basic butter and salt mashed potatoes. If you want more flavors add them to the butter/milk mix. We know some people add sour cream or heavy cream, but we keep our recipe light and use skim milk.
Note there are many types of mashed potatoes. This is our creamy recipe. We would like to put out more along the way! The last thing is to remember the ingredients are for 5 lbs. of potatoes. When making your butter/Milk mixture always mix slowly. Add some milk and butter and stir. This will keep the potatoes mixing at a texture you want to get to at a good speed.
Always Remember.
Cooking should be FUN, have FUN doing it!

Ingredients:
Potatoes: 5lb bag of Ukon Gold Potatoes
1 Cup Melted Unsalted Butter
1 Cup Skim Milk (Heated)
1 or 2 hearty pinches of salt (Feel free to add other seasonings as well!)
Chopped Green onions for garnish
Potatoes:
Red: Waxy and great for roasting, pan frying or smashing. However, mashed red potatoes are popular. They are also extremely high in potassium!
White: White potatoes are the middle of the road potatoes. They make great white mashed potatoes but are also great for making salt potatoes.
Yukon Gold: High starch, low moisture. They also have a yellow color and have a natural buttery flavor with a dense consistency.
Russets: High starch, low moisture. Make for the fluffiest mashed potatoes. They also make for amazing baked potatoes and fries.
There are many more however we wanted to keep this to just the most popular. There are also Purple, fingerling, sweet and petite Potatoes. We would like to over time of course get to all of them.
We do hope you try out some of the tips we use or all of them! Since changing the way chef makes mashed potatoes, he and his family have been so excited. They really have improved and everyone asks for seconds!
