This popular pan dulce gets its name from the word 'corn' because it looks like an ear of corn. Made with cinnamon-flavoured dough filled with a colourful filling and covered with a generous sprinkling of sugar and more cinnamon!
Ingredients:
4 Cups of All-Purpose Flour
2 Tsp Active Dry Yeast
1/2 Cups of Sugar
1 Egg + One Additional Egg Yolk
1/2 Cup of Water or Milk
1 Tbsp Ground Cinnamon
1 Tsp Ground Anise
1 Cup of Lard of Shortening
Filling:
3/4 Cup of All-Purpose Flour
1 Cup of Confectioner Sugar
1/3 Cup of Butter
1 Egg Yolk
Optional: 1 Tbsp Cocoa or Food Coloring of your choice
For Dusting:
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/2 Tbsp Ground Cinnamon
