I am a musician and a game developer at the same time. This app is cool, and I really love it. It's one of the best tools for "quick" music production, but I prefer to make music for games like I do for films (I do film compositions). I think about the atmosphere of the game (which is really important), then I make some basic ideas (a few piano/guitar chords and some melodies to match them). Then, I try to develop the idea. Like arpeggiating the chords and spreading the melodies, adding drones and ambient elements. This is how I make music for my games :)

I used Bosca Ceoil in my LD38 entry. Such a useful tool. Cool thing that I realized while looking at the website is that it's by Terry Cavanagh, the developer behind Super Hexagon and VVVVVV. For LD39 I'm actually debating on dusting off my copy of FLStudio to make something. That or Renoise since it's pattern-based too. Not sure which. Anyway, thanks for the video! You do awesome work.

You could also use some demo versions of the software that is used by pro musicians, stuff like Ableton Live Lite, FL Studio Demo, and other DAW's. Even though they aren't full versions of the software they represent, they have a lot more functionality than Bosca Ceoil. They might not be as easy to understand, but you can definitely push more juice out of them.

Bosca ceoil is Irish and translates as "music box" its like an accodian but it has buttons instead of an accordians mini piano bit. Im one of 90,000 proud Irish speaker btw and have sibling(s) that play it. It's pronouncianrion: bosca. Buskah. The s is pronounced like the s in bus so just add kah to it. The ceoil is pronounced keol. If you have ever seen keoghs Irish chips (self plugin) it is pronounced keohs. Ceoil is the same but swapping the s to l. Buskah keohl. Bosca ceoil. Fheicfith mé tú ag an gaeltacht😉!

And then make music on pc in Reaper which can be used free but should be bought for 60 dollars after 2 months. With vst's like vital which is also a free one 😊
