How to Make Oven Ribs: 3 Simple Foolproof Steps
Not everyone has a smoker or BBQ, and even if you do... sometimes the winter weather just makes takes the fun out of grilling. Enter this simple 3 step marinated oven ribs recipe.
Step 1) make the marinade.
Step 2) marinade for 4-5 hours
Step 3) bake low and slow for 60-90 minutes.
Cooking ribs in the oven shouldn't be seen as second rate, oven baked ribs can be juicy and fall off the bone ribs.
Ingredients:
170 mL (¾ cup) packed brown sugar
60 mL (¼ cup) cider vinegar
Lemon zest from 1 lemon
6 medium garlic cloves, finely chopped
30 mL (2 Tbsp) course salt
20 mL (4 tsp) paprika
10 mL (2 tsp) freshly ground black pepper
5 mL (1 tsp) ground allspice
2 racks pork ribs
Method:
Place everything except the ribs in a bowl and whisk to combine.
Coat the ribs evenly with the rub on both sides, cover, and refrigerate 5-6 hours.
Pre-Heat the oven to 160ºC (325°F).
Place the ribs meat side up on a baking sheet.
Bake for 60 - 90 minutes or just until they are tender when you poke them with a knife.
