The history part, I don't think the ladies were trying to give their customers an energy kick. Most likely it was the opposite, this is a very intense dish that will give you that kinda tired but satisfied feeling after eating. It just doesn't make sense that the ladies would want their customers to make them work harder.

Vincenzo, I am not sure you ever made such a thing on your channel. Today I made Zabaione ( liquid egg custard ) for the first time ever. I was not familiar with any "official" recipe so I followed my father's. Egg yolks, sugar and beat until fluffy - about 5 to 7 minutes. (About 1 TBLS of sugar to every 6 yolks.) Before beating, I did season the top of the eggs with a little salt to bring out the flavor. I used Demerara sugar which has a bit of molasses flavor you do not get with white sugar. No alcohol added for us. This sweet treat has not been made in the family for maybe two decades. What a surprise my mother and father had today. *Show us your version!*

One morning over breakfast I ate so many out of the jar that I vomited in my oatmeal. Totally grossed out my brother, a plus!. It took many years for me to look oatmeal in the eye but I never lost my love for olives. Unlike those for my brother.

What a dish, full of flavors dear Vincenzo, will definately make this!! They serve it in Italian restaurants here in Greece. It's interesting to hear about your variation of the dish with garlic, anchovy, and olives. 🧄🐟🫒 Different flavor profiles can certainly make a recipe unique. Feel free to try out the homemade mozzarella too-it adds a delicious touch! Let me know how it turns out for you.

Skipping the capers and focusing on the garlic, anchovies, and olives is a delicious variation that adds its own flavors and character to the dish. I'm sure your version of pasta puttanesca is just as tasty and satisfying. Keep exploring and enjoying your culinary creations!

Linguini!! This pasta dish is my absolute favorite! I remember the first time I had it. . . It was a rainy, cold day. I dipped into the restaurant for shelter. Had a martini, and ordered this dish to wait out the rain. Oh my!! What a pleasant surprise! I ate the entire plate (I am only 5’’2” and could never eat a full portion of any pasta dish.) Thank you for the tip of hand crushing the olives.
