I recently became in LOVE with fragrance oils. I turn them into perfume sprays 😆! The vendors I purchase from last on my skin for days. I’m scared of using perfumers alcohol for some reason so I use grapeseed oil as my base 🥰. Everyone I walk by or hug ALWAYS compliment me.

@@missmegan3694 im actually working on making some of my own scents. my first one i just made is a mix of vanilla, blackberry amber, cactus flower and pink peppercorn. all oils i got are from bulk apothecary, however they're not really too strong and honestly im planning on just buying them from somewhere else later since i get noseblind to these oils VERY quickly, quicker than most perfumes. i used just 91% rubbing alcohol as my base and it adds a slight chemical scent that doesn't really play to well with most scents. it works, and while it does fade before the fragrance oils fade its still noticeable somewhat when you first spray it.

Have you looked into adding a drop or two of vegetable glycerin? It should help with the longevity and sticking to your skin.
@a.j.laplace4216
7 ай бұрын
No don’t do that. Vegetable glycerine doesn’t break down in alcohol and doesn’t do anything anyway. “A drop or two” lacks practically any presence in the end result anyway. Just leave it out.
@Ninja-lu4dg

Vegetable Glycerin is literally a sugar alcohol. I have no idea what you are talking about, but VG devolves entirely in ethanol. If you are making an oil based cologne or perfume it would be a bad choice as it is insoluble in oils.

@a.j.laplace4216

@@rabidash9309 I’m going to give you the best recipe and then a small explanation as to why a perfume oil may or may not perform. Step 1) Choose your bottle size. Step 2) 20% of that chosen size as perfume oil. The other 80% is perfumers alcohol. Step 3) spray it 3 times on yourself and let it sit for a day so everything breaks down in the alcohol as much as possible. Regarding your question about performance: the end result is only as good as the perfume oil you’re using. There’s nothing you can do to enhance the performance because you don’t know what’s in the oil. People mention Vegetable Glycerin to help it “stick” but the perfume oil is meant to do that already. Any other claims about the use for vegetable glycerin in perfume is nonsense. So make sure you purchase the highest quality perfume oil you can acquire to have the best possible end result 👍

@@retouchjewelery4326 perfume oils are an already finished product. You can buy them and use them on your skin immediately. I believe that perfumer's Alcohol is better that Everclear especially when we mix it with our oils- we want to make sure that we use the best- highest grain available and that also goes from the oils themselves.

One or the other. Not both. But you still need to check if it’s already diluted in carrier regardless. Fragrance Oils are usually uncut and are more so for candles, soap and other products. Perfume oils are already safely diluted with a carrier oil and ready to wear.

@a.j.laplace4216

Hey there! So I wouldn’t mix fragrance oils either. They weren’t meant to be mixed. Regarding your question about essential oils, they’re not meant to be mixed because of their organic composition. Modern perfumery is mostly artificial components that mimic smells found in nature. They’re created in laboratories specifically for use in perfumery. Essential oils can’t be expanded on in the same way aroma chemicals can.
