How to make pineapple jam for business
One way to lengthen the shelflife of the fruits is to make them into fruit jams.
Fruit jams are crushed or chopped fruit that is cooked with sugar until it gels which is less firm than fruit jelly.
Fruit jams has a longer shelflife for up to 6 months in room temperature even without preservatives because sugar act as natural preservatives- it lowers down the water activity, drawing out water making it unavailable for microorganisms.
In this video, I'm going to show you the process in making pineapple jam for home consumption or business.
These pineapple jams are processed in the Food Processing Innovation Center-Davao, Philippine Women's College of Davao, Davao City.
