Hi Dowden, I think you forgot to mention the main thing in stan kolev style, that fat rich saw wave with some distortion (I think the initial saw wave comes from the moog Sub-37 , he has one in his studio) , an example from Stan Kolev - Nu Moon at 2:05 . I've been trying to recreate that sound in Serum/Diva with some unison/distortion but i don't get closer to his fat saw, any ideas? Thanks in advance
@DowdenProductionAcademy
2 жыл бұрын
Hey Victor! This type of saw sound I use in the video, actually! @ 23:15 - it's just a matter of using them to write more notes than one to get the same effect as in Nu Moon at 2:05. If you want to learn how to do it, follow along with how I teach but use DIVA or Serum and follow the same direction :)

Does this sound like Trance? Trance and Progressive have a lot of similarities melodically, but have a lot of differences that I would say makes them not sound similar enough to be compared. In my opinion!

You are welcome! Sorry about that - I recoginize your name. I did receive the booking, and I attended the session and waited about 15 minutes but when you didn't join the meeting I then sent you an email to the email address that you used to book the Calendly. It's possible both emails went to your span/junk mail? When a Calendly session is booked you should receive an email right away. My email is dowden@dowdenmusic.com so you can reach out to me there if you're still having problems. :) Edit: Just checked and I think I found the issue! I think you may have spelled your email incorrectly on Calendly - the address I have your name is spelled with a B instead of N - please email me at Dowden@dowdenmusic.com and we'll get this sorted!

@DowdenProductionAcademy

You have to put the EQ on the chain (click 'show chains' button) and then choose the right chain which it will go on. You can also drag the EQ inside the 'wrapper' of that device. It's the little grey bar that separates each group of devices. Usually has a volume read out beside it as well (green bars showing volume)

Hi! Not sure it's sounds like Stan Kolev, i think you did Artbat #2. Stan got much lower subs and bass and of time it has only one note yes - but almost never goes to 1/16 note Toms are parts of low end groove most of time also. But reverbed percusion loop you done great. Also big part of modern Kolev sound is Massive Moog Sub 37 bass sound in breakdowns. It might be usefull to check his Sample Packs where he basically deconstruct his production. Any way - thank you for you work and keep you channel grow! gl

Always appreciate feedback. I used multiple Stan Kolev tracks for reference. I can't remember exactly which tracks, but they were definitely similar to what I made here. I found some tracks that I feel represent pretty accurately what I made in the video. I try to grab different parts of many tracks to give the viewer more than just sounds from one song. www.beatport.com/track/satchitananda/16276212 www.beatport.com/track/for-the-time-being/16276219 www.beatport.com/artist/stan-kolev/8677/tracks www.beatport.com/track/ageless/16451641 www.beatport.com/track/ageless/16451641 www.beatport.com/track/mystic-secrets/15831626 Thanks for the kind words!
@VAKABULARDJ
Жыл бұрын
@@DowdenProductionAcademy From Those Tracks you mentioned - Only SATCHITANANDA - has 1/16 rolling sub bass line. Other's have bassline which looks more close to MIDI you made for your Upper Bass. But the thing is Stan not doubling Low and Upper Basslines. His low-end is low-end and nothing is repeating same MIDI (on one note) on top of that. He might use ARPs on top of that - but it's has melody parts already. And this is not part of groove. He is doing this to keep groove separate and working well on dacefloor. It's much easy to be done with one note ofc) As is said - Your Upper Bassline sounds really similar to what ARTBAT doing usually, but not Kolev. Btw i had release on Outta Limits few years ago)
