Ingredients:(Measured for 1/2 cup sambhar dal)
• Urad dal - 1 Tablespoon
• Channa dal - 1 Tablespoon
• Coriander seeds - 1.5 Tablespoon
• Jeera whole - 1/2 Tsp
• Peppercorns - 1/2 Tsp
• Sesame seeds - 1 Tsp
• Whole red chilly - 4 (as needed)
Method:
• Roast the spices one by one on a slow flame and turn off once there is a nice aroma.
• Do not over roast as this will lead to bitter taste.
• Once cooled , grind it and the sambhar powder is ready.
• You can use it immediately or you can store in the fridge for upto one month.
