A coworker and I recently dug up some soapweed yucca (Yucca glauca) root while digging a hole for a post at work. I decided to save the pieces of root and record this video. This plant is both Native and commonly found in the central region of the United States across the great plains. Many Native American tribes used this plant for both soap and producing cordage.
