I built my own CNC Router almost a decade ago from free plans I found online and I have NEVER regretted that decision. It’s not a great machine but has served me well for my hobby needs. It only cost me $600 all in to build back then. I’m currently making a newer one that is slightly bigger though.

Very nice, I am glad I bought this particular machine when I did, inflation has not been nice with this particular model, although there are definitely more comparable options out there to pick from now

Can you do a video on how to tune a regular monoblock amp with no dsp or anything fancy, just plain simple aftermarket deck, mono amp, and regular sub

Hey mark , you should look into tileing, it will let you cut the full piece at once.

With the shop he has and all the work he does, he should just get a full on 4'x8' capable machine.

Can i use welding machine wire as a amplifier wiring kit

I 3D print templates and fixtures and use them as router jigs. As long as I can glue them together, I can use them to cut parts of unlimited size. It's a lot slower, but it's also _a lot_ cheaper. A few years back you could get really light duty full-sheet sized CNC routers for a couple grand. I keep hoping those days will return as China's economy keeps packing up.

You could always print a large format CNC like the MPCNC Lowrider.

@@brandoncrimmins6296 I may bite the bullet and do that at some point if the ready made stuff never comes back to reasonable prices. For no more than I do, printing templates has been working out alright.

Thanks! I have seen a few videos; very through and informative. How do you suggest getting a 3d trunk scan? Buy a little scanner? Which one? OR find someone? I need a custom box properly done.

So I'm hoping to do my own headunit, AMP, speaker and sub setup for my car - i've done a headunit and speakers before in my old car, but never a full sub and amp setup. Last time I simply kept the stock wiring since it was good enough for the power output i wanted. This time round, I want to replace the 6 coax speakers that I have - front, mid, and rear, left and right for each, and then possibly 2 subs (a left and a right sub). So... do I need an 8 channel amplifier? will each speaker location (ie, front right, on my dashboard) use its own channel on the amp? Will I have to wire 8 channels from my headunit to my amp, and then those 8 channels from my amp to each speaker? and then to prevent attenuation, keep the power wire for the amp separate from the speaker wires going both from the headunit to the amp and from the amp to the speakers? or am I confused? the more videos I watch, the more overwhelmed I become!

Hey I am somewhat new and just had a question and wanted a general guided response. If I am planning on running a sub but my amp will slightly be underpowering it what could I do to my box design so I could still get as much as I could out of the sub with less power? Like would increasing the box volume or something make up for it?

I have a hobby CNC machine with a working area of about y-33” x-50” and z-4ish” Tiling could make it so I could cut a 4x8 sheet but I prefer to cut the pieces down and work from smaller pieces first.

From one of his earlier videos he mentions upgrading your alternator due to power drain from audio and existing electrical already in your vehicle. Hopefully this helps. P.S. He has an equation for figuring if you need a bigger alternator. I=Power/Volts (can’t remember what video he has that equation) Example: I=Power of audio over/Volts of alternator/car. 2000 amp/sub over 13 or 14.4. Read updated paragraph at the bottom before any next paragraph. I=2000/14. I=142 Amps but divide 80%. I=178.5 Amps needed. That’s constant wave length but most people listen to music which changes answer. Heavy Bass listener 178.5 times? 50% = 89.2 amps needed.. (check with Marks correct equation) Average listener 178.5 times? 25% = 45 amps needed.. check with Mark/this channel correct equation. I’ll come back when I check my self with Mark’s video/equation Update: His video is How to determine wire size. This has the equation that you need. My example is a bit off. Please review this video to actually help!

It's hard to tell with the sped up video of the tab removal, but your tabs look a bit thick. Better too thick than too thin, but .030 should be more that thick enough, and makes removal a bit easier.
