the pattern is already scaled and all of the pieces are modular you should be able to go straight to foam

All of the pieces are modular to fit multiple body types so you’d just need to figure out how much to scale it up for you. It’s designed for 6’ currently

I know I’m way behind on this video but I’m using this chest armor as a base for my OC Mandalorian armor. With a bit of fabrication of course. It will actually be my first EVA foam build. That's some good work! Since I'm considering trying this (very 1st time w/ foam). What degree are you cutting part B 10, 15, 30? Just kinda eyeball it in that range? I was also curious in details of your cement and superglue mix or you just layering them? Thanks

Thanks! Just eyeballing the angles approx 30 degrees for the double adheasive method contact cement in the center superglue along the outside, keeps the build clean

Nope a hair dryer doesn’t get hot enough. You can buy heat guns cheap though online or hardware stores

Hey sks! I bought somw of your 10mm and 6mm HD foam. Any advice on how to cut thru the 10mm as easy as you do? Cant seem to stay on the outline i drew on the foam. It's high density for sure😅

Make sure you are constantly sharpening your knife after every few cuts. Foam dulls the blade very quickly so I use a kershaw knife sharpener all of the time. High density just means that it’s less porous, not a harder foam. Low density foam dulls the blades even quicker

Okay... question. PLA prints are not always practical. In theory high density or ultra high density foam would be a better more durable option in reality. Yes or no? I mean... a Batman suit in PLA can take 5 months to print without 3-4 machines. I have seen guys finish incredible things with foam in a months time with no stress. Suit of armor in a week. Perfectly scaled and no fuss.

I always tell people to get a sheet of each size 2,4,6,10mm plenty for this project and your next. Part 2 is all about painting go check it out.

Watch my how to print video and in the pdf print options you can scale down the template. As far as how small for a 4 year old you’ll just have to drop the percentage and print it out to see by how much I’d say at least 40% but if you do please post let the chat know

I am really bad at cutting angles (for beveled edges) into foam. Any tips or tools for how to consistently get the same angle on each foam piece?

Make sure to sharpen your blade as much as possible for a frictionless cut. Other than than it’s all about practice or if you plan on doing a lot of them invest in a bandsaw where you can change the angle of the table

the mm just refers to the thichkness of the foam and almost all companies reagardless of location around the world will have it in mm not cm. so 10mm is approx 1/2" 6mm approx 1/4" etc

Yes, with plenty left over. I would personally get the cosplay bundle 2,6,10 then a roll of 4 the bundle is cheaper and you can always use 2mm for details and attachments 👍

@@JasonHlife unless I specify otherwise you’ll need a sheet of 2,4,6,10mm. That will be plenty and you’ll have some extra in case you mess up or for your next project.

Did you mean cardboard? You can use whatever you want but foam take compound curves and holds up better in the long run.

depends on how fast you work. I already did the hard part figuring out the template so you just need to cut and assemble. I wouldnt think that it would take more than a couple days but I work faster than most
