Here is a rough challenge I would love to see you take on! Hair cards! How would you create hair cards for a character? If you could cover exporting the UV's, utilizing different materials, using a displacement node for the material to make the hair look like it is moving (like the SimpleGrassWind node in Unreal), attaching the hair to your character, that would be amazing!

Hi guys, So the ultimate one texture secret. I had a paint to figure this one out but i finally did it. SO. Object info color node displays object color that is picked in Object properties as viewport color. It means you have to have a seperated mesh into parts with one and same material assigned to it, but each object has its own viewport color picked out. then you just take settings from Cartesians shader and plug you one object info node to it. What you get is simply shaded model with one color. but if you want to add anything else to it. for example multiple tiled materials or node groups that might change individual part it will not work. so if you have complicated model you have to put this shader on multiple objects and materials. Hope it helps :)

Hello, a warm thank you for your "sharp" tutos! However, with all the respect I owe you, two points: 1) Why this screen res? We don't see much of your settings this way. Prefs > Interface > Display > Res scale; at least for your tutos :) 2) While the nodes' stream is horizontal, why not displaying both the nodes editors windows horizontally? Which would provide us with a better ability to verify the construction over time.

I'm not the one who posted the video but what I think is this: 1 - Probably he didn't think about it 2 - I think because the model is more vertical, so it makes it easier to preview the final shader in the model. I prefer it that way in most cases, but I understand your preference as the horizontal format would be better for an overview.

I would like to know how you ended up with just one principled shader and still have all the colors and shading effects? Object info/ color node?
@Kasawayu
Жыл бұрын
I think most values are uniform over the whole model, so it's already well set up with only the basic sliders the principled shader. The only value that needs another input is the color and I think it's in the vertex paint, hence the Object Info node connected to the base color input (which is what you mentioned)

Yeah, good point, a such complex material with only one node, i would like to know how Is this packed or being implemented, looks powerful
@sublimebeyondloss6887
Жыл бұрын
@@knmbsst it's not that complex. Since it's iron man as long as he has a diffuse texture wich is pretty easy to bake he has all the other settings on a single value. This particular model came with different materials. For each different material select the faces it's assigned to and uv map then and put the different sections on different sides of a texture and scale them each to 0. Then just paint the colors over them and you have a diffuse texture

Great Content - in under 10 minutes. Thanks @Bbn19! I have two questions: 1) I tried to animate the w parameter of the second noise (the one which is responsible for the liquid ripple effect) with keyframes. It didn´t work out at all.... In your technique you are "driving" the W parameter with the other (animated) noise. Will this generate some kind of grayscale loop, which is the reason why the second Noise seems to move like a liquid? 2) How does the Object info node (linked to the base Color) get its colors? Where does one set this up in blender?
