We love a good grilled fish that takes literally no time to whip up, in my household. Mackerel is a flavorful type of fish with a natural ocean brine taste that’s of extreme appeal. I remember, as a young child, my mom accidentally bought a box of mackerel, when her original plan was to purchase red snapper😅 it was a huge box of mackerel that eventually became a daily consumption, we surprisingly, never got bored with 😎 because, my mom consistently offered an inviting rendition of this amazing fish. Mackerel offers an incredibly array of heart healthy fat such as, the all important omega 3 fatty acid. I hope this simple, yet, full flavored recipe inspires you 🙏🥰
INGREDIENTS:
* 6 fresh mackerels gutted and cleaned
* Smokey applewood salt to taste. I used about a tsp ( substitute with 1/2 tsp smoked paprika and regular salt)
* 2 tsp roasted garlic oil (substitute with 1/2 tsp granulated garlic, and 2 tsp olive oil)
Ingredients for red salsa (pepper sauce):
* 4 seeded vine tomatoes
* 1/4 large red onion
* 4 habanero or scotch bonnet chilis
* 1 clove garlic
* 1/6 thumb size ginger
* 1 tsp salt
