I just made this, foraged and started it yesterday. It is literally indistinguishable from honey. I used raw sugar (not white refined sugar) and a dash of vanilla extract. I had to simmer it for around 30-45 minutes to get it thick enough. So good. Tasted exactly like honey.

Edit: dandelions are out, I'm gonna pick and hopefully make this today!!! I'll update when it's done and I've tried it Edit 2: I might have done something wrong but....it was gross!! It tasted and smelled like green beans 😭😭 I tried it just as tea with some sugar, before wasting all the time and sugar to make it into the syrup. You aren't allergic to honey. You are allergic to either the bees or the pollen used to make the honey. I know a lady who can't have honey but she can have chestnut honey. Meaning she's allergic to 1 or more of the flowers the bees have access to.

@addicted2caffeine
Жыл бұрын
@@lorddaquanofhouserastafari4177 yeah sadly this happens to most people. Forget the term lactose intolerant , that's marketing. It's only really Indians (Asia,not America)(where their ancestors were the first to raise cows, also cows are all from India) that have a mutated gene, along with approx 50% of Europeans to consume dairy , the rest all just have an immunity to the lactose from birth. We keep this immunity up by continuing to consume dairy throughout our life. Until 1 day we don't. It's not fully understood if the immunity ends abruptly or if it's caused by having a period of no consumption , cause and effect ie do you loose the immunity by stopping consumption or do we just notice it after stopping ie on a diet and when you then start eating cheese you notice or because you stopped. Bonus fun fact some children are born without the immunity and it just kinda picks up as a toddler or doesn't.

domesticated honey bees don’t actually need all the honey they produce! having all of it can actually be dangerous for them because it can attract predators and parasites and cause illness for the hive if they have too much. taking some honey from bees is like shearing sheep- it’s necessary for the overall health of the animals. it’s both possible and easy to harvest honey without hurting any of the bees you work with if you’re careful.

My family makes this ,,beggars-honey" since years. Its the perfect recipe, however the most important thing is to harvest the flowerswhen the blossoms are realy fully opened, the smell is right and most important... it has to be warm (not raining) at least two days before your harvest. Only if all those things are correct you are going to catch the silky, flowery and weirdly umami flavor of these flowers.
