I 100% respect this man and all the full time fisherman. Honestly. I just don't get all the fishing arts and crafts. As a "part time" fisherman I do just as good with Walmart equipment and local bait shops as I see with all the extras. But then again I am part time so maybe I'm missing something 😅

That is a pretty solid hack! I'm not sure if a heat gun (instead of the lighter) would push the tubing around too much to keep it in place while setting it. A heat gun would keep it from burning vs a lighter.

Bringing race into everything is racist. When it’s done, it makes it seem like blacks have never accomplished anything, when in fact they have always accomplished, innovated, created, and certainly fished. This man is a legend and is a product of American culture we should be celebrating that and coming together to create a strong civil bond and culture without racism.

Gamakatsu Super Line EWG are the only hooks I use for any Texas rig. I had great hook ups with ewg hooks but was constantly getting bent out so I went to flipping hooks. I was still losing fish and the ones I did catch were getting hooks thru the eye which is no Bueno. Enter the SuperLine EWG and all of my problems stopped immediately. 90% of the fish are hooked in the thick meaty plate of the jaw or right in the top of the beak.

with heat shrink just hold the lighter underneath it like 4 inches and then spin the hook only above the flame and it will get a lot tighter where you dont need to super glue it. just keep the hook keeper part away from directly over the flame. heat rises so always want to keep the lighter always under. unless you have a heat gun. that works also. but good tip.

The only problem with this is you have to tear your worm up to take it off the book now ... Not really a big deal but when the 10pk of worms I use costs $10 it's not really the way I want to go especially when trying to figure out which color worm they like in whatever area I'm fishing ...

I would think that the worm would just rip and be unusable as opposed to sliding down after a fish hits it?
