Brilliant. I love the recycling concept. Way cheaper than $8 for a new popping rig.

Hi Joshua, I too am a mad keen fisherman, we don't have popping corks in Australia, we do use corks or floats as we call them. I am curios on how to use the popping cork, and what advantage it has over a regular cork or float please? Regards John

no thank you man. u guys have helped me learn more on what fish will bite and what baits work best cause before i always used cut mullet or squid and then i switched to live shrimp and caught 11 different species in 1 day. including an 12lb yellowfin tuna which was a good fight haha

Thx u for this vid. One quick question. The Styrofoam floats i find look just like yours but the black plastic tube in the center of the foam is solid core (no hole to slip wire through). What am I finding that's different from what you're using? Is there a particular name for this proper kind of float? Thx again for sharing this information.

We had a bunch of fish jumping around on the surface of the water last night after the thunderstorm and I went into my tackle box and had ZERO lures or rigs for top water (FACEPALM). I wish I had saw this video first cuz I have all of the items minus the weighted beads but I could have made something work. I think I will rig up a few of these for the next time that I go out. How long to do run the leader off of the bottom of the cork? Also is it better to use live bait on a popping cork, or does it not matter much? Lastly and this is a little off topic...what the heck bites on pinfish? Either alive or as cutbait, they seem to get ignored off the pier whenever we toss them out in the water, while the greenbacks get plenty of attention. Thanks and love the Vids! Keep it up!

That stinks, I like to run 2.5 to 3 feet of leader. You can use live bait or artificial, they are both very productive techniques. Everything will eat pinfish, but I primarily use them for grouper, snook and redfish.

Thanks for the reply Capt. Josh. I had a video request by the way. Me and a couple of FishBrain new friends were talking about tides (high vs low) when is the prime time to arrive especially at the pier. I think we confused each other on when the best time is. Would you mind doing a quick video, nothing fancy talking about High tide vs. Low tide and when is the best time to plan your arrival for fishing. I was told to get arrive before high tide and fish while the tide is rising. Other were told to time it right at the peak of high tide which obviously gives you a much shorter window. Thanks either way!

I personally prefer two hours before high tide and the first hour of the outgoing. I will add it to the list of video ideas for sure. Thank you!

You can use it without the sliding effect..slide it on the regular line and tie a leader line with a swivel.late i know but someone will wonder also
